Overview Of The Role:
The IKEA Food Team Leader is responsible for attracting visitors to the IKEA store and enhancing their shopping experience through food services. The role involves supporting the manager in the development of the IKEA business in specified areas including production, restaurants, and food markets. The job requires leading by example, focusing on customers, and ensuring co-workers are motivated and well-informed. Success in this role means creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages customer return visits and aligns with IKEA values.

What You Will Do:
Customers
- Ensure customers are always the focus and strive to make them smile by meeting and serving them with empathy and care, following IKEA values.
- Act as a good ambassador for the IKEA store in all customer interactions, giving customers a reason to return.
- Walk the store regularly and engage in daily dialogues with customers to receive feedback and learn about their needs and wants, taking action based on their input.
- Take immediate action to meet customer needs and continuously improve customer interactions, encouraging colleagues to do the same.
- Have knowledge of services offered in the store and use this to assist customers.
- Ensure customers have a great shopping experience at all times throughout the day.
- Understand and contribute to the store business plan and IKEA Food action plans by supporting the manager in implementation with the team.
- Secure an irresistible food offer through attractive presentation and communication of the range.
- Passionate about products, actively seeking knowledge about their content, origins, and benefits, sharing this with customers and colleagues.
- Ensure top-selling products are available and clearly communicated and displayed at all times.
- Collaborate with the manager to support marketing and in-store activities.
- Assist the manager with range changes in a simple and cost-conscious way.
- During quiet times, initiate commercial activities to attract store visitors and increase take-up rates.
- Maintain a clean, organized, attractive, and inviting area to enhance customer experience.
- Use local market awareness to provide input on range and pricing to the manager.
- Work with the manager to ensure all co-workers understand the IKEA Concept and key guidelines and how these impact their roles.
- Lead by example, supporting and coaching colleagues to meet customer needs and grow professionally.
- Promote an environment where the IKEA culture is alive and diversity is valued, making IKEA Food a great place to work.
- Actively participate in team activities and collaborate with colleagues in other parts of the store when needed.
- Keep colleagues informed and encourage knowledge sharing to perform roles effectively.
- Contribute to making the IKEA store successful and capable of achieving sales growth.
- Work towards agreed goals and take actions to meet them.
- Challenge costs by working in a lean, simple, and cost-conscious manner, sharing good examples and encouraging the team to find smarter ways of working.
- Ensure compliance with IKEA Quality and Food Safety Policies and routines.
- Report any food incidents or potential incidents, contributing to a 'safety first' culture.
- Ensure adequate staffing in the area for successful operations.
- Proactively work to avoid bottlenecks and improve customer satisfaction.
- Implement daily operational routines and actions as set by the manager.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Drive to make things happen and exceed goals.
- Experience in a vibrant retail environment with a proven track record.
- Experience in serving customers and supervising a team.
- Experience working with KPI-driven action plans.
