Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician supports the safe and efficient operation of the facility by completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks. Working within the Facilities Department, the role ensures that all systems and equipment support uninterrupted food production and delivery.

Based in a new 40,000 sq ft food production facility, the technician will carry out a wide range of maintenance duties, with a strong focus on electrical work. Experience with commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration is an advantage, alongside general maintenance skills including plumbing, drywall, and basic building repairs. The role requires working closely with a small maintenance team to coordinate and complete tasks efficiently. A manual driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned PPM inspections and servicing as scheduled.
• Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance tickets promptly.
• Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and renovation work as required.
• Perform all tasks safely, with consideration for staff, equipment, and the facility.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards during all maintenance activities.
• Complete driving duties and errands when required.
• Make small purchases and accurately log receipts and expenses.
• Supervise third-party contractors on-site to ensure safe and quality workmanship.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Practical electrical skills and hands-on experience (formal certification not required but strongly desired).
• Experience in facility or building maintenance; general maintenance skills such as plumbing, drywall, and basic repairs are required.
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment or refrigeration is an advantage.
• Basic English communication skills to follow instructions, complete logs, and communicate with team members.
• Valid manual driving licence is required.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Dubai Municipality or equivalent).
• Understanding of HACCP principles, cross-contamination prevention, and temperature control.
• Previous work in a meal plan company or cold kitchen is a strong advantage.
