About The Role

The Mason is responsible for performing skilled masonry work in the maintenance, repair, and construction of hotel buildings, walls, flooring, tiles, and decorative stonework. The role ensures that all masonry work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with hotel standards, ensuring guest satisfaction and supporting preventive maintenance programs.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Carry out masonry-related maintenance requests across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house.
• Repair and maintain walls, tiles, flooring, ceilings, marble, granite, and other surfaces.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules related to masonry and tiling works.
• Mix, lay, and finish concrete, plaster, mortar, and grouting as needed.
• Ensure proper waterproofing and sealing of surfaces.
• Perform small construction, renovation, and refurbishment works when required.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the work area.
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment at all times.
• Respond promptly to guest or colleague repair requests, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with other technicians (carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical) as part of the Engineering team.
• Report major repair needs or hazards to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and materials used.
  
  

Experience & Educational Requirements

• High school diploma or technical certificate in Masonry or equivalent trade.
• Minimum 2–3 years of masonry/tiling experience, preferably in hotels, resorts, or large facilities.
• Knowledge of materials, tools, equipment, and techniques used in masonry and tiling work.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance requests.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials.
• Attention to detail and finishing quality.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety and hazard management.
