About the Role:

At Wio Bank, we are looking for a skilled and dynamic Operations Specialist to join our growing operations team. This role focuses on the smooth running of key operational functions, including Card Operations, Sundry Reconciliation, Nostro Reconciliation, and supporting complex automation initiatives.

As a crucial member of our Operations team, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of our banking operations while driving improvements through automation. You will collaborate cross-functionally with various teams such as product, finance, engineering, and compliance to ensure our daily banking operations run seamlessly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Card Operations Management: Oversee and manage the daily operations of debit and credit card systems, ensuring smooth transaction processing, reconciliations, and resolving issues related to card issuance and payment. Work closely with the Card Operations team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Sundry Reconciliation: Manage sundry reconciliation tasks, ensuring that all general ledger accounts are accurately reconciled. Identify discrepancies and ensure timely resolution, escalating issues as necessary.

Nostro Reconciliation: Manage Nostro reconciliation processes, ensuring that all interbank and correspondent bank accounts are accurately reconciled on a daily basis. Proactively identify discrepancies, investigate causes, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any issues promptly.

Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements across operational workflows, particularly in areas like reconciliation and reporting. Support initiatives to enhance operational efficiency through the implementation of automated solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, finance, engineering, and compliance teams to ensure that all operational processes align with business needs and regulatory standards. Ensure smooth coordination between operational teams and other departments.

Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all operational processes, particularly in relation to payments, cards, and reconciliations, are compliant with banking regulations such as KYC, AML, and other industry standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

Reporting & Documentation: Support the creation of operational reports, highlighting key performance indicators, reconciliation results, and issues requiring attention. Maintain accurate records and documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.

Customer Focus: Ensure that operational activities support a seamless and efficient customer experience, minimizing disruptions or delays for customers, particularly in the areas of payments, card transactions, and account balances.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in operations, with a focus on cards operations, sundry reconciliation, and Nostro reconciliation in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Experience in supporting complex automation initiatives is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of banking operations, including card systems, reconciliation processes, and payment processing.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations such as KYC, AML, and how they impact operational processes.
  • Experience with reconciliation software and tools; familiarity with automation platforms is advantageous.

Technical Skills:

  • Solid technical aptitude with the ability to support the implementation of automation solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in using banking and financial systems, as well as Excel or other data tools for reporting and analysis.

Detail-Oriented & Problem-Solving:

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve them effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate and resolve operational issues efficiently.

Team Player & Communication Skills:

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
