Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Consultant Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon to join a leading healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering expert surgical care to infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart conditions, while contributing to academic, research, and multidisciplinary initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Consultant Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon to join a leading healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering expert surgical care to infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart conditions, while contributing to academic, research, and multidisciplinary initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex paediatric cardiac surgeries including open-heart procedures, valve repairs, and congenital defect corrections.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including ICU management and long-term follow-up.
- Collaborate with paediatric cardiologists, anaesthesiologists, and intensivists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in on-call rotations and emergency surgical interventions.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, residents, and fellows.
- Contribute to departmental research, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) with specialization in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Board Certification (e.g., American Board, FRCS, Arab Board, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5–10 years of post-fellowship experience in paediatric cardiac surgery.
- Proven track record of successful surgical outcomes in high-volume centers.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an asset but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in the GCC region is preferred.
