Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) at Factory Level
  • Support the overall management of HSE within the factory, specifically overseeing the manufacturing of chemical injection skids, wellhead control panels and automation business.
  • Ensure compliance with JAFZA HSE regulations, legal requirements, and ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) across factory operations, focusing on worker safety and environmental sustainability.
  • Conduct routine HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Support for Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Carbon Footprint Reduction Initiatives
  • Assist in the execution of action plans aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions within factory operations, aligning with the company’s long-term goal of reducing carbon footprint by 2050.
  • Implement energy-saving and waste reduction strategies within the factory to contribute to sustainability targets.
  • Project HSE Support
  • Provide HSE support during the construction phase of new projects, ensuring sustainability and green building requirements are met in line with the company's Vision Zero initiatives.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure that HSE guidelines are integrated into day-to-day operations during project execution.
  • Assistance in Yearly HSE Plans and Objective Setting
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager in developing and implementing annual HSE plans for the factory, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Monitor progress on HSE tasks, ensuring they are completed on time and as per the established plan.
  • ISO Compliance Support
  • Assist in maintaining ISO certification (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018) at the factory level.
  • Prepare documentation and participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Ensure that corrective actions from audit findings are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Contractor and Subcontractor Compliance
  • Ensure that all contractors and subcontractors working within the factory comply with Avanceon’s HSE contractual requirements.
  • Conduct periodic safety meetings with contractors to review their compliance and performance.
  • Training and Competency Management
  • Support the Senior Manager in conducting annual Training Need Analysis (TNA) for factory employees and contractors.
  • Ensure that training and competency development programs for factory workers are completed on schedule.
  • Incident Reporting and Investigation Support
  • Assist in incident reporting and participate in investigations, utilizing knowledge from HABC Level 2 Incident Investigation certification to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Ensure that corrective actions are implemented to prevent future occurrences of similar incidents within the factory.
  • Policy Implementation and Continual Improvement
  • Ensure effective implementation of HSE policies and procedures within the factory, as outlined by higher management.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSE practices through active participation in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • BS in Environmental Engineering/Sciences, Chemical Engineering/Industrial Engineering
  • Certifications:
  • IOSH Managing Safely (MS).
  • NEBOSH Process Safety Management (PSM)/IOGC
  • NEBOSH JGC
  • Lead Auditor Certification in ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.
  • HABC Level 2 Certification in Incident Investigation

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in a relevant HSE role, ideally in UAE within a manufacturing environment, with experience in chemical injection skids or wellhead control panels being advantageous.
  • Must have UAE Driving license.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, and 45001).
  • Experience with HSE risk assessments, audits and inspections
  • Good Understanding of HAZOP Process
  • Solid understanding of local and international HSE regulations.
  • Good command on current ESG Frameworks and sustainability practices
  • Excellent is conducting Incident investigation while using root cause analysis techniques (Fault Tree, Event Tree Analysis, TapRoot etc.)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
