Job Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation & Budgeting:
- Prepare cost plans and estimates for projects at various stages.
- Assist in developing project budgets and cost control strategies.
- Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs.
- Tendering & Procurement:
- Prepare tender documentation, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and scope of works.
- Analyze contractor and supplier quotations.
- Evaluate bids and assist in negotiation and award of contracts.
- Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and manage contracts and subcontracts.
- Monitor compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Manage change orders, variations, and claims.
- Cost Control & Reporting:
- Track project costs against budgets and prepare regular cost reports.
- Identify risks and propose cost-saving measures.
- Provide financial progress reports to management.
- Valuations & Payments:
- Prepare interim payment applications and final accounts.
- Conduct on-site valuations of work in progress.
- Certify subcontractor and supplier invoices.
- Project Coordination:
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and procurement processes.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quantity surveying (post-graduate).
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and pricing.
- Experience with FIDIC, JCT, or other standard contract formats (as applicable).
- Proficient in cost management software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Excel).
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
