Research Analyst in our office in Dubai
Responsibilities
Research:
- Conduct comprehensive research on potential fund managers, including their investment philosophy, track record, team composition, and risk management practices.
- Analyze fund performance data, including returns, risk metrics, and style analysis.
- Evaluate the fund's investment strategy to determine its alignment with the overall investment objectives of the fund of funds.
Due Diligence:
- Assist in the preparation of due diligence reports on potential fund investments and interviews with fund managers.
- Evaluate the fund's operational infrastructure, risk management procedures, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitoring:
- Track the performance of existing fund investments and monitor market developments that could impact their performance.
- Prepare regular reports on the performance of the fund of funds portfolio.
Financial Analysis:
- Analyze the financial statements of fund managers to assess their financial health.
- Evaluate the fund's fee structure and negotiate favorable terms.
Market Analysis:
- Track market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes that could impact the fund of funds portfolio.
- Identify potential investment opportunities and risks.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A passion for investing and a desire to learn about the financial markets.
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
- Pursuing CFA Charter – Passed CFA Level 1 exam.
- 2-3 years of experience as an analyst in the financial industry (preferably sell-side) is a must.
