Research & Market Intelligence Manager – Food & Agriculture

Introduction

Contango is seeking a Research & Market Intelligence (RMI) Manager – Food & Agriculture to support our strategic advisory services. This role will focus on conducting in-depth research, analysing market trends, and generating insights to guide investment decisions, project implementation and policy recommendations in the Food & Agriculture sector. The ideal candidate will have strong research, data analysis, and strategic advisory skills, with experience in economic food dan agriculture research and consulting.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Insights:

• Conduct primary and secondary research to analyse market trends, policies, and investment opportunities in Food & Agriculture
• Develop bespoke research frameworks and assessments tailored to client needs.
• Assess the economic impact of investments, market trends and policy changes on the agricultural sector and local economies.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to support project implementation, investment strategies and policy development.
• Utilize advanced data analytics tools (e.g. econometrics) to analyze complex datasets and deliver actionable insights.

Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare executive summaries, reports, and presentations with clear, data-backed insights
• Develop visually compelling charts, models, and reports to communicate research findings effectively
• Identify key industry trends and provide strategic recommendations based on research outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Sharing:

• Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, government entities, and industry experts
• Participate in client meetings to understand their needs and present research findings
• Support the development of proposals and market intelligence reports.

Project Management & Delivery:

• Lead independent research and manage workstreams within larger projects
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality research outputs aligned with client requirements
• Contribute to internal knowledge-building efforts, thought leadership and best practices in research and market intelligence.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Agriculture, or a related field
• MBA or advanced degree preferred
• 5-7+ years of experience in Economic Research, Macro Strategy, or Management Consulting
• Experience in Food & Agriculture industry research, investment promotion, or public sector advisory is a strong advantage
• Knowledge of MENA region economies and global agricultural market dynamics.
