The Resuscitation Officer is responsible for teaching, coordinating, and improving resuscitation practices across the organization. This role ensures that all staff are trained and competent in life-saving techniques, resuscitation policies and equipment are up to standard, and that cardiac arrest and emergency response events are audited for continuous improvement and patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and coordinate resuscitation training programs (BLS, ALS, and other life support courses) to maintain staff competency and certification compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and review resuscitation policies, guidelines, and procedures in line with regulatory and international standards.
  • Lead audits and analysis of resuscitation events, including cardiac arrests, and recommend improvements to clinical practice.
  • Act as a clinical resource during resuscitation events, providing guidance and support to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure resuscitation equipment, emergency trolleys, and defibrillators are functional, standardized, and maintained in collaboration with relevant teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in any discipline.

American Heart Association Instructor Certification (Faculty preferred) for BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ideally PEARS and NRP.

Minimum 2 years of experience as a AHA certified instructor.
