Safety Officer - DWC Airport

Job Purpose

dnata is one of the world's largest air services providers offering ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services across five continents. We operate in 38 countries and 136 airports globally.

To support in providing technical expertise and direction to dnata businesses on all matters related to Occupational Health and Safety to reduce risks, execute safe operations and coach on safety performance improvement

In This Role You Will

• Provides advice and support to operations team to ensure safe implementations of operations
• Provides advice and guides to create consistency across multiple locations and business
• Intervenes in unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and ensures that appropriate action is taken and that the operation is safe with the right behaviors
• Implements safety improvement programs and monitors the performance and effectiveness
• Participates in Safety self-assessments and audits
• Participates in investigations and corrective actions
  
  

Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Training, Safety, or a related field.
• NEBOSH certification from an accredited body.
• 3–5 years of experience in a safety-related role, ideally within airport ground, catering, or cargo operations.
• Proven experience mentoring, training, and coaching entry-level safety personnel.
• Practical exposure to both field and office-based work (approximately 75% field, 25% office).
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, including interpreting Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements and safety codes.
• Proficient in safety investigations, observation programs, and behavioural-based safety approaches.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• High-level planning, organisation, and data analysis capabilities.
• Strong professional writing skills for reports, investigations, and safety documentation.
• Proficient computer and IT literacy, including use of relevant safety and reporting systems.
• Physically able to work in operational environments relevant to airport ground handling, catering, and cargo.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
