Senior Accountant – Reporting

Role Overview: The Senior Accountant - Reporting role is responsible for preparing and checking AD Government's financial statements to ensure they are accurate and follow accounting rules. Key tasks include helping with monthly and yearly closings, analyzing budget variances, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and maintaining internal controls for data accuracy. This position also involves supporting external audits, creating various financial reports, and finding ways to improve financial processes. Overall, it helps provide insights that support better decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely closing of monthly accounting periods as per agreed schedules.
• Provides Financial reports and data in prescribed formats to relevant stakeholders at agreed intervals - daily, monthly and other periodic intervals.
• Prepare BoP, GFS, COFOG data for the stakeholders in the agreed format after ensuring that the data is fully mapped for the reports.
• Prepare Reports and data for SCAD in the required formats at agreed intervals.
• Provide data and reports for Internal Audit and participate in correcting any internal control issues.
• Coordinate with External Auditors (ADAA) during annual Audit and provide reports and information to support the Audit.
• Coordinate on monthly and annual closing of accounts in the system after ensuring that all required entries are posted in the system.
• Participate in Implementation of Accounting policies at DoF and other entities
• Provide the necessary support to the direct manager, and perform any other related tasks assigned to him / her

Experience and Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in the field of Finance/Accounting or its equivalent in a similar specialty that matches the job duties.
• It is preferable to obtain a specialized certificate in the field of the job.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar field/position.
