Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Compliance Manager to join Inception’s in-house legal and compliance team.

The Senior Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and ongoing management of Inception’s compliance program. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role ensures that the Inception Group adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, particularly in relation to data privacy, cybersecurity, and other regulatory and tech-specific compliance issues. The Senior Compliance Manager will work closely with the legal team and other stakeholders to help shape and operationalize compliance strategies that align with corporate objectives, mitigate risks, and support business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance Program Management: Support the General Counsel in working with G42 and other stakeholders’ compliance teams to help oversee the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of Inception’s compliance programs. Ensure programs address UAE and international legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies, particularly in the areas of sanctions, export regulations, data privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, AI and other technology sector-specific regulations.
  • Stakeholder management: Act as Inception’s primary compliance point of contact (POC) for G42 and other stakeholders’ compliance teams, meeting with them regularly to address their and Inception’s compliance requirements.
  • Regulatory Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor changes in local, national, and international laws and regulations impacting the technology sector. Keep the General Counsel and executive team informed about compliance-related developments, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and recommend preventive actions to mitigate those risks. Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure that all operations adhere to applicable regulations.
  • Internal Audits and Investigations: Support and/or coordinate internal audits and investigations in response to compliance issues or potential violations. Ensure that appropriate actions are taken to address non-compliance and develop corrective action plans.
  • Compliance Reporting: Prepare and present regular compliance reports to the General Counsel and senior management, highlighting key risks, audit findings, and compliance performance metrics. Report on the effectiveness of compliance strategies and propose necessary adjustments.
  • Collaboration with Legal and Business Units: Collaborate with the legal, information security, IT, and other departments to integrate compliance considerations into business operations and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Training and Awareness: Assist in the development and delivery of regular compliance training programs to employees at all levels of the organization, ensuring that staff understand their compliance responsibilities and the importance of ethical business practices.
  • Third-Party Management: Support with the compliance aspects of third-party relationships, including vendor and customer screening and due diligence, compliance aspects of contract negotiations, and ongoing monitoring to ensure third-party compliance with applicable laws and company standards.
  • Team Leadership and Development: This role will be one of the initial members of Inception’s compliance function and offers potential for future leadership responsibilities as the function grows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, finance or a related field; legal qualification and relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) are strongly preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in compliance roles, with a proven track record of supporting or contributing to the development and implementation of compliance programs in a regulated industry.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex situations, identify risks, and develop solutions.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards, with a commitment to upholding the company's values and promoting a culture of compliance.
  • Experience working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent legal analysis, negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
