Senior Executive Officer

First Digital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Executive Officer (SEO) to join its leadership team as part of its expansion into the UAE region. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership, strategic planning and communication skills, with a proven track record in overseeing regulated financial operations.

Responsibilities

• You will primarily focus on the daily management and supervision of our ADGM based stablecoin business, working closely with the Board of Directors and the Senior Management team to ensure the efficiency, integrity and compliance of the company’s business processes and transactions.
• Act as a strategic partner to the Board, providing data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to support decision-making and drive the company’s strategic direction.
• Prepare regular management reports, presentations and strategic plans for the Board, keeping them informed of the company’s performance, business operations and key developments.
• Oversee the establishment, implementation and maintenance of systems and controls to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and robust risk management practices across the organization.
• You will manage key controlled functions and ensure the Senior Management Team fulfils its duties, particularly the Risk Officer, Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).
• Maintain sufficient knowledge of relevant anti-money laundering (AML) requirements and work closely with the Compliance Officer & MLRO to foster a strong compliance and risk culture throughout the Company.
• Lead the recruitment of key personnel as the local UAE team grows, ensuring that all hires, particularly at the Senior Management level, meet the required regulatory standards and are appropriately qualified to fulfill their roles.
• Build and maintain relationships strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including clients, regulatory bodies, and business partners.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging threats in the UAE landscape, ensuring that the company is proactively adapting to the regulatory developments and emerging risks.

Job Qualifications & Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in a senior management or executive role, preferably within the cryptocurrency, fintech or financial services industry.
• Proven experience in overseeing operations in a regulated environment. A plus if the candidate has a strong understanding of the regulatory frameworks governing financial services in the UAE, particularly ADGM.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to guide and influence senior management and key operational functions.
• Familiarity with financial services industry best practices in compliance, risk management, and internal controls, with the ability to implement these practices effectively.
• Fluency in English is required, with outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be a resident of the UAE.
• Strong network and relationships across business, government, and fintech across the UAE is helpful.
