The incumbent in this role will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities and extending end-to-end support to tender processes across the Africa region. This role involves market research, client relationship management, tender coordination, and driving revenue growth across our OUs in Africa, especially within institutional and government segments.
What to expect:
- Identify new business opportunities in domestic and international markets, particularly within institutional and public sector segments.
- Develop region-specific business strategies to grow institutional pharma sales.
- Prepare market-specific proposals, commercial quotations, and assist in price discovery.
- Monitor competitor activity and provide strategic inputs for market entry and expansion.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing) to support market entry and expansion plans.
- Prepare business proposals, pitch decks, and commercial offers tailored to client requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and government agencies.
- Support sales teams in our OUs with data, documentation, and business case preparation for institutional business.
- Provide periodic reports on tender performance, BD pipeline, and public sector opportunities.
- Track and manage tender announcements across African markets through portals, publications, and local agents.
- Coordinate end-to-end tender submissions: documentation, pricing, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Work closely with Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Legal, and Finance teams to gather necessary documents and approvals.
- Ensure providing timely inputs for submission of complete and compliant tender documents across our OUs.
- Monitor tender outcomes, feedback, and competitor submissions for continuous improvement.
- Maintain a centralized database of tender submissions, results, and pricing trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field. MBA in Marketing / International Business is a plus.
- 8-12 years of experience in pharmaceutical business development and tender management roles.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical tendering processes, government procurement, and institutional sales.
- Strong understanding of African regulatory and procurement frameworks in the healthcare/ pharma space.
- Exceptional entrepreneurial drive, self-starter, self-motivated and ability to independently manage assigned tasks.
- Strategic thinking, project and stakeholder management, high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Experience working cross-culturally with diverse colleagues.
