Responsibilities:
- Monitor local data protection laws and regulatory activities across the Middle East and Sub-Region Africa and ensure timely assessment of their impact on the business.
- Support local entities in implementing applicable data protection laws and corporate data protection standards.
- Act as the first point of contact for data protection matters in the region, providing advice and guidance to management and operational teams.
- Ensure the management of data subject rights requests (access, correction, deletion, etc.) and coordinate responses in cooperation with local entities and corporate headquarters.
- Manage and coordinate data breach incidents, including documentation, root cause analysis, and liaison with regulators where required.
- Conduct audits, gap analyses, and compliance reviews in the region.
- Develop and deliver data protection training and awareness programs for employees at all levels.
- Collaborate closely with the Corporate Data Protection Office in Hamburg to ensure alignment between local, regional, and global compliance requirements.
- Completed degree in law or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in data protection management within international corporate environments, with strong ability to collaborate across multicultural teams and global work settings
- Very good knowledge of data protection law (UAE, regional Middle East, and international frameworks such as GDPR).
- Strong communication and advisory skills, with the ability to present complex matters clearly to different stakeholders.
- Motivated and innovative, with the ability to work independently and with global teams.
- Experience in process design, documentation, and compliance implementation.
- Excellent analytical skills with solution-oriented thinking.
- Business-fluent English (written and spoken); and knowledge of Hindi/ Arabic/ French/ Swahili is a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally within the region and to headquarters.
- A responsible and independent position in an international environment.
