Role Summary

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate your knowledge of critical thinking, problem-solving and core computer science topics. This requires a deep understanding of systems, data structures, algorithms, design and architectural patterns, and modern scripting and enterprise level languages

Responsibilities

• Hands-on with coding and testing of software modules.
• Take ownership of software features or user stories assigned to you.
• Analytical, love to solve challenging algorithmic problems.
• Transform ambiguity into clarity.
• A Team-Player, collaborating with QA, Dev Ops and other teams to design, build, test, and roll out.
• A curious, researching new and emerging technologies that may enable improvements in product development.
• A promoter of best practices like TDD and Continuous Deployment.

• Stellar communication skills, effectively expressing yourself.
• Participate in all phases of the development process - analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation in Agile development lifecycles.
• Support the technical design process by participating in the analysis of technical application requirements
• Assist in implementing analyses that will identify requirements related to people, processes and technology
• Code and test program modules; assist in the design.
• Assist in the integration of technical and application components, including Data Science/AI-related components.
• Execute conversion plans and document possible improvements; identifying disruptions in the processes.
• Participate in execution and documentation of system and unit tests.
• Mentor junior Software Engineers and assist with code-review.
• Follow best practices in software design and development.
• Explore and learn new technologies.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a Bachelor's degree or higher in related field.
• At least 7+ years of demonstrable experience in software development roles.
• Experience of DevOps (Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes)
• At least 7+ Experience in ArcGIS Suite: Proficient in ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcSDE for geospatial applications.
• At least 7+ Experience in FME (Feature Manipulation Engine): Skilled in FME Desktop & FME Server for data transformation and workflow automation.
• At least 7+ Geospatial Data Management: Expertise in designing, managing, and optimizing enterprise geospatial databases (Oracle/SQL-based).
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented software design best practices.
• Fluency in at least two of the following programming languages: C/C++, Java and Python
• Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular or React.
• Implementing different software architectural patterns, including microservices and dataflow.
• Writing code following popular Software Design Patterns.
• NoSQL and Relational Databases, such as Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL and their connectors in C/C++, Python and/or Java
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Elastic, RabbitMQ, and Kafka. TDD methodology and testing frameworks such as PyUnit/JUnit. Version control system, such as Git.
• ArcGIS Suite: Proficient in ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcSDE for geospatial applications.
• FME (Feature Manipulation Engine): Skilled in FME Desktop & FME Server for data transformation and workflow automation.
• Geospatial Data Management: Expertise in designing, managing, and optimizing enterprise geospatial databases (Oracle/SQL-based).
• Spatial Data Standards: Experience in ensuring compliance with spatial data and metadata standards.
• Server-Side GIS Integration: Strong experience in deploying, configuring, and administering GIS servers.
• Automation & Scripting: Development of custom GIS tools and automations using scripting within GIS environments.
