Job Purpose
Supervise, co-ordinate and direct the Fabrication section works, including the pipe fitting, welding and boiler making activities on all ADNOC GAS plants (JV/ASR), the Central workshop facility and the non-industrial areas. Ensure all work is carried out safely and according to safe Working requirement as directed by the WMS.
Key Accountabilities
Supervise, co-ordinate and direct the Fabrication section works, including the pipe fitting, welding and boiler making activities on all ADNOC GAS plants (JV/ASR), the Central workshop facility and the non-industrial areas. Ensure all work is carried out safely and according to safe Working requirement as directed by the WMS.
Key Accountabilities
- Supervise and direct the activities of assigned personnel in the Fabrication Section in the plant and the central workshop facility. Perform supervisory function at the level established by management in accordance with the agreed maintenance and safety procedures.
- Receive work orders and determines priorities based on work schedules and commitments, visit work site to determine extent of work and other requirements, obtains appropriate materials, special tools or equipment as required, assign Craftsmen to the various jobs and provides necessary technical instructions.
- Interpret drawings for Piping, structural, equipment and liaise with CWS related discipline engineers.
- Liaise with material department/engineers in generating for release of materials/ consumables for fabrication and CWS activities.
- Ensure team perform tasks efficiently, safely and meet production standards for productivity and quality.
- Inspect, or ensure inspection of, completed or in-progress production to quality standards, while minimizing waste.
- Check daily the work progress and inspects completed work to ensure conformity with work standards.
- Inspect work performed by contractors during Turn around for compliance with established specifications and standards.
- Liaise with Inspection Engineers (from Inspection and Corrosion Department) regarding quality control, inspection and testing of all welding and pipe fabrication.
- Arrange & ensure that tools, equipment, spare parts and other materials are always available for field and Central Workshops’ maintenance work and initiates lists of spare parts and materials for replenishment of stock.
- Ensure proper use of new as well as reconditioned material and good housekeeping practice in central Workshops at the field.
- Obtain Permit to Work authorization within the period as per ADNOC GAS WMS policy.
- Responsible for Inventory, Asset register & Calibration routines for all equipment’s under his section.
- Preparing WMS and necessary FRA (if required) for the jobs to be executed in the Plant.
- Maintain appropriate records of maintenance activities and ensures that charges for time and material are properly assigned to the various work order accounts.
- Perform other related duties, such as preparing activity reports, QA/QC checklists, liaising with other supervisors for carrying out joint maintenance work, supervising other crafts in such works, responding to emergency calls, arranging for overtime work, etc.
- Safeguard own Health and Safety, as well as that of the fellow employees, by paying attention to safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment and complying with applicable HSE requirements.
- Take action to INTERVENE and STOP any un-safe activity or non-compliance with HSE requirements, if witnessed, and report the incident – regardless of your position or that of the transgressor
- Diploma / Higher Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
- 5-8 years of experience, in the Oil & Gas industry, petrochemical industry including at least 3 years’ supervisory experience.
- Good spoken English & the ability to write technical reports.
- Moderate knowledge in SAP.
- Analytical, problem-solving, planning and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of Quality Standard codes compliance and capable of resolving safety issues.
- Valid UAE driving license.
- Any relevant certificate would be an advantage though not mandatory.
