The Supply Chain Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of the supply chain for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Full Line Food Service Distribution for Southwest Asian and Eastern Africa (SWAEA) program. This role is critical in ensuring that products are sourced, distributed, and delivered efficiently and effectively while meeting compliance standards and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of food service products.
- Collaborate with senior management to align supply chain strategies with program goals and customer requirements.
- Identify and establish relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a reliable supply of quality products.
- Manage Amentum’s distribution to customers across both zones and operations to customers in SW Asia and E Africa).
- Ensure facilities are approved by US Military VETCOM for storage of food destined for US Military consumption.
- Work proactively with customer service team, sourcing, and demand planning team to ensure high customer satisfaction and 98% fill rate on orders.
- Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels, order fulfillment, and demand forecasting.
- Oversee the logistics of product transportation and distribution, ensuring compliance with DLA regulations and food safety standards.
- Coordinate with transportation providers to optimize delivery routes and schedules.
- Analyze supply chain processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain.
- Work closely with operations, quality control, and procurement teams to ensure seamless integration of supply chain activities.
- Facilitate communication among stakeholders to address supply chain challenges and enhance collaboration.
- Prepare and present reports on supply chain performance metrics, including inventory turnover, order accuracy, and lead times.
- Use data analysis to make informed decisions and drive improvements in supply chain operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the food service or logistics industry.
- Experience in government contracting
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, and logistics operations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with DLA policies and procedures.
