Overview

The Vice President - Commercial will be a key driver of growth and success for Inception, shaping the company's commercial strategy and ensuring the seamless integration of AI products and services into the market. By leading a cohesive commercial approach, you will expand market presence, forge strategic partnerships, and enhance revenue streams. This leadership role will have a direct impact on Inception’s profitability, market positioning, and long-term success.

The opportunity

As VP - Commercial, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer and lead all aspects of Product Marketing, Partnerships, Key Accounts, and Sales. This role demands a visionary leader with a proven track record in developing and executing commercial strategies that drive revenue, forge strong partnerships, and build customer success in the AI and advanced technology sectors. You will collaborate with the COO and other senior executives to ensure that commercial strategies align with Inception’s overarching AI-driven goals.

Inception is the UAE’s national-scale enabler in AI Research and Development. Partnering with Microsoft's AI SaaS, we offer domain-specific Agentic AI Orchestrator platforms utilizing reasoning agents for precise and cost-effective services. Our focus includes AI incubation, IP creation, applied AI R&D, and AI investment products. By creating models tailored to specific domains and languages, we ensure superior accuracy and efficiency. Collaborating with top universities and industry giants to drive significant advancements in AI technology within the region.

Responsibilities

As the Vice President - Commercial, you will lead the development and execution of strategies that maximize market share, revenue, and profitability. You will oversee the Product Marketing, Partnerships, Key Accounts and Sales teams, ensuring that they work cohesively to deliver exceptional value to customers and partners. Your role will be pivotal in shaping Inception’s commercial success and long-term growth.

  • Commercial Strategy & Execution:
  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking commercial strategy that supports Inception’s AI business objectives, focusing on expansion into new markets, products, and partnerships.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities, ensuring strategies capitalize on AI technology trends and meet market demand.
  • Collaborate closely with the COO and executive leadership team to ensure alignment between commercial activities and long-term AI-driven goals.
  • Product Marketing Leadership:
  • Oversee the Product Marketing team to ensure successful AI product launches and strong market adoption.
  • Drive go-to-market strategies, including AI-specific product positioning, messaging, and pricing, to maximize revenue and market penetration.
  • Collaborate with the Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure that product offerings reflect market demands and innovative AI capabilities.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Alliances:
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic AI-focused partnerships and alliances that enhance Inception’s market positioning and drive revenue.
  • Build long-term relationships with key partners, ensuring partnerships align with commercial objectives and create mutual value.
  • Leverage partnerships with AI technology leaders, academic institutions, and industry players to accelerate Inception’s growth in the AI landscape.
  • Key Account Management & Customer Success:
  • Lead the Key Accounts team in providing exceptional service, driving customer retention, and expanding relationships with key clients in the AI space.
  • Develop and implement strategies for managing key accounts, ensuring high customer satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term value.
  • Oversee customer success initiatives to ensure the seamless implementation and ongoing support of AI products and services, driving customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Sales Leadership & Performance:
  • Lead the Sales team to meet and exceed revenue targets, focusing on AI product sales and new business development.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, including pipeline management, sales forecasting, and performance tracking to drive growth in the AI market.
  • Mentor and develop the sales team, equipping them with the necessary tools and training to succeed in a rapidly evolving AI technology landscape.
  • Financial & Performance Management:
  • Manage commercial budgets and resources to maximize efficiency and profitability across all commercial activities.
  • Monitor financial performance, including revenue growth, profit margins, and key financial indicators, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Provide regular commercial performance updates to the COO and executive leadership team, identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Leadership & Team Development:
  • Build and lead a high-performing Commercial team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
  • Provide mentorship and support for professional growth, ensuring team members are equipped to meet the evolving demands of the AI industry.
  • Align the commercial team’s efforts with Inception’s values, vision, and strategic goals, promoting collaboration and excellence.


Qualifications

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate AI-driven business goals into actionable commercial strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, especially in the context of AI technology and partnerships.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and successfully managing commercial operations within the technology or AI sectors.
  • Deep understanding of AI markets, customer needs, and the competitive landscape, with a focus on emerging trends and technologies.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of building and maintaining high-value relationships with partners and key accounts.


To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, AI Technology, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior commercial role, with expertise in product marketing, partnerships, key accounts, sales, and delivery, ideally within the AI or technology sector.
  • Proven success in driving commercial strategies that result in revenue growth and market leadership in the technology or AI space.
