The WSP Middle East is currently seeking to recruit an Associate Director – Asset Management.
The Associate Director in Strategic Asset Management will play a pivotal role in shaping, growing, and leading the practice in the Middle East region. This position requires a senior professional with proven expertise in asset management strategy, lifecycle planning, and operational excellence, combined with a strong track record in business development, client engagement, and practice building.
The Associate Director will not only drive client value through asset management excellence but will also establish the practice as a market leader in the Middle East. By combining strategic vision, technical expertise, and local market insight, this role will support in developing long-term sustainable growth for both clients and WSP.

Responsibilities
Practice Growth & Development
- Lead the establishment and expansion of the Strategic Asset Management advisory practice across the Middle East.
- Define go-to-market strategies, service offerings, and delivery models tailored to the regional context.
- Build and mentor a high-performing advisory team, ensuring capability development and knowledge transfer.
- Act as the regional representative on the WSP Global Asset Management Centre of Excellence.
Strategic Asset Management Frameworks
- Design and implement enterprise-level asset management strategies aligned with ISO 55000, national regulations, and organisational objectives.
- Support government entities and large asset owners in developing national or sector-wide asset management policies and frameworks.
- Lead projects to assess total cost of ownership (TCO), lifecycle modelling, and long-term investment planning for critical infrastructure.
- Develop renewal and replacement strategies for infrastructure, energy, water, transport, and real estate portfolios.
- Deliver digital transformation initiatives, including asset data strategies, enterprise asset management (EAM) system implementation, and IoT/AI-driven predictive maintenance programs.
- Conduct maturity assessments and gap analyses to benchmark asset management capability against international standards.
- Implement performance improvement programs focusing on reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), risk-based maintenance (RBM), and condition-based monitoring.
- Lead strategic capital planning initiatives, including prioritisation frameworks, cost–benefit analyses, and portfolio optimization.
- Advise clients on funding models and financial strategies for sustainable infrastructure investment.
- Deliver projects that embed sustainability, carbon reduction, and ESG principles into asset management strategies.
- Support green infrastructure planning and resilience assessments in line with regional sustainability agendas (e.g., Saudi Vision 2030, UAE Net Zero 2050).
- Guide infrastructure and transport operators through regulatory compliance and performance reporting frameworks.
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, real estate and transport.
- Lead the development of high-quality asset management proposals that effectively address client requirements and demonstrate tailored solutions.
- Build and strengthen relationships with senior stakeholders, regulators, and industry leaders in the region.
- Represent Advisory Services at conferences, forums, and industry events, establishing thought leadership in asset management.
- Work closely with global and regional leadership teams to align strategies, share best practices, and leverage global expertise.
- Align with cross-functional teams within Advisory, Middle East business units and global teams to deliver integrated asset management solutions.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in asset management, consulting, or advisory, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success in practice building, business development, and client engagement within the Middle East.
- In-depth knowledge of asset management frameworks, lifecycle management, and performance improvement strategies.
- Strong network across industries and client organisations across the Middle East.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline and professional certifications (e.g., IAM, CAMA, PMP).
- Track record of building and growing high performance teams.
