Overview of the role:

Drive growth and profitability of Air Freight Management (Air, Multimodal, Special Logistics) through effective leadership, employee engagement, and key customer interaction in the UAE. Oversee operational and financial performance of Air Freight Management at Al Futtaim Logistics. Support Freight Management in developing Pharma Logistics and Oil & Gas verticals in the UAE.

What you will do:

• Full ownership of BU operations, financials, assets, and risks.
• Represent BU with customers, authorities, and senior management.
• Drive business development in Oil & Gas, Aerospace, F&B, Pharma, and Air Freight across UAE & GCC.
• Ensure efficient interdepartmental coordination for operational excellence.
• Develop strategic partnerships, optimize supply chain costs, and enhance service levels.
• Own P&L, budgeting, and KPI reporting while setting and achieving SLAs.
• Lead human resource development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
• Ensure compliance with international freight regulations, government policies, and AEO standards.
• Negotiate rates, maintain key customer relationships, and oversee service level agreements.
• Drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and department administration, ensuring business sustainability.
  
  

Required Skills to be successful:

• Proven ability to manage large-scale Freight Operations efficiently.
• Expertise in handling high-value bids & RFQs for new and existing customers.
• Strong negotiation skills with carriers and agents to ensure customer retention and a healthy hit ratio.
• In-depth knowledge of Aerospace, Pharma, Food Logistics, and specialized freight solutions.
  
  

About the Team:

This role reports to the General Manager - MENA, leading a dedicated team while collaborating closely with the senior logistics management team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

What equips you for the role:

• Postgraduate degree, preferably in Business Management or Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum 10 years in the Air Freight industry
• Expertise in Air Freight Operations Management, Procurement & Pricing, Tender Management, and MIS reporting.
• Customer-centric approach, execution excellence, integrity, quality, and compliance.
