Manager, Cloud Operations

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Cloud Operations to lead and optimize our enterprise cloud environment, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, ensuring service reliability, and enforcing best practices across backup, patching, monitoring, and incident response. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical expertise, proven leadership, and a process-driven mindset to scale and secure our cloud operations.

Candidate will lead a team of engineers, manage strategic projects, and ensure compliance and performance of our cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Cloud Operations Management
• Design and execute structured, process-oriented cloud operations strategies.
• Ensure scalability, security, and reliability aligned with organizational KPIs and goals.
• Team Leadership and Development:
• Build and mentor a high-performing team of cloud engineers, while promoting a collaborative team culture.
• Foster accountability and professional growth through regular feedback, performance reviews, and skill development plans.
• Azure Infrastructure Oversight
• Manage end-to-end Azure operations, ensuring high compliance across organization policies and procedures.
• Enforce governance and cost optimization across cloud resources.
• Process Implementation and Automation
• Implement ITSM processes such as Change, Incident, Backup, and Patch Management.
• Automate deployments using Azure DevOps, Terragrunt, and Terraform.
• Daily Operations Management
• Oversee monitoring, backup validation, performance tuning, and security posture.
• Ensure critical system backups and adherence to DR and incident response best practices.
• Scope Definition and Risk Management
• Conduct SWOT analyses and define operational scope.
• Proactively identify risks and align cloud operations with business continuity objectives.
• Training and Knowledge Sharing
• Develop training plans to upskill the team.
• Maintain centralized documentation and SOPs for operational consistency.
• Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
• Fine-tune monitoring using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Prometheus.
• Continuously optimize operational processes to meet evolving business needs.
• Disaster Recovery Planning
• Develop and maintain robust DR strategies.
• Ensure minimal downtime and data integrity for business-critical workloads.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in cloud operations or infrastructure engineering, including 5+ years with Azure.
• Proven experience managing enterprise cloud operations, ideally in Azure environments.
• Strong knowledge of automation tools (Azure DevOps, Terraform, Terragrunt).
• Experience implementing ITSM processes and cloud governance.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing technical teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, DR, backup, and compliance in the cloud.
