Research Assistant (Biocomposites)

Job Description

The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates University Calls Application for Research Assistant to work in the field of biocomposites. The candidate will be supported by a research grant for four months and it will further extend on the basis of performance of candidates and the selected candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Mohammad Jawaid. Roles and Responsibilities: o Preparation of raw materials from Biomass o Characterisation of biomass o Fabrication and Characterization of biocomposites and nanocomposites o Testing of materials and biocomposites/nanocomposites by using advance equipments Present and report research results at national and international conferences and publish scientific results in peer-reviewed Q1 journals

Minimum Qualification

An appropriate educational degree supplemented with documented evidence to support the following: • Skilled in Material science/Polymer composites •Research experience in Fabrication and Characterization of biocomposites/nanocomposites • Ability to characterize composites and nanocomposites • Good technical writing skills and good Publication records • Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role.

Preferred Qualification

• Material science/Polymer composites background or any related area • Demonstrable willingness to support work in the lab • Be adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands • Commitment to provide a safe and healthy workplace
