Why does this role exist?
As the Fire Protection Service & Retention Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting existing customer accounts by preparing accurate estimates, service proposals, and contract renewals. This role exists to ensure customers receive timely pricing for inspections, repairs, maintenance services, and corrective work while helping the company maintain long-term client relationships. Your work will directly contribute to customer retention, revenue growth, and the successful delivery of fire protection services.
The Impact you’ll make
Service Estimating & Proposal Development
- Prepare estimates for inspections, repairs, maintenance services, and corrective work.
- Develop pricing proposals for service agreements and contract renewals.
- Calculate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Ensure estimates align with company pricing standards and profitability goals.
- Review inspection reports, service records, and deficiency lists.
- Identify required corrective actions and develop accurate repair estimates.
- Assess ongoing service needs and recommend appropriate maintenance solutions.
- Prepare renewal proposals for existing customers and expiring service agreements.
- Support customer retention efforts through timely and accurate proposal preparation.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding pricing adjustments and scope clarifications.
- Assist account managers and service teams in maintaining strong client relationships.
- Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing for materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with service managers, technicians, and account managers to gather project information.
- Ensure estimates and proposals are completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, renewals, service agreements, and pricing history.
- Track pending proposals and expiring contracts.
- Support process improvements that enhance estimating accuracy and customer retention efforts.
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of estimating or service pricing experience.
Experience preparing estimates, quotes, or proposals for service, maintenance, or repair work.
Ability to read and interpret inspection reports, service reports, or deficiency lists.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong estimating, pricing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to accurately calculate labor, materials, and equipment costs.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Experience with CRM systems or estimating software is a plus.
- Knowledge of fire protection systems, including fire sprinklers, fire alarms, extinguishers, and suppression systems, is highly preferred.
- Computer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up.
- Internet speed of at least 40MBPS
- Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam
- Back-up computer and internet connection
- Quiet, dedicated workspace at home

Work Setup:
- Remote position
- Must have a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace

- 40 hours per week
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Pacific Time
- $7 per hour
